Food is okay, if it had not been for the friendliness of the wait staff, I'd have give the place 0 stars. The decore needs work as the cardboard (wall art) advertisements are childish and not reminicent of a professiinal restaurant. The lax dress code and no Asian staff minimize the experience as what I saw seemed to be a hillbilly-bachi with not a soul removing their headgear, nor camouflaged jackets. I was asked by the waitress if I would prefer chopsticks and jokingly I replied as it appeared most dining in, appeared to use theor hands. The decor and lack of respect shown by patrons made me wonder as why the bill was that of a, "higher end" restaurant? Shogun reflects more of a fast food atmosphere and is not worthy of the prices they charge for the experience out...
For a rural town in Missouri, Shogun's sushi doesn't disappoint. They have a surprising variety of classic rolls and creative combinations. The quality is always high, and we have never been disappointed with our visit. Occasionally, the service is slow, but the wait staff is usually friendly and the complimentary dumplings while you wait help to ease the time. We have never tried the tableside Hibachi, but it sounds and looks entertaining. They enjoy celebrating birthdays here, so if you want to embarrass someone, this is the place.
Very good Japanese eating. If you don't like the table side cooking then go cheaper and eat regular dine in. Their two for 22 beats other local restaurants and more food too.
Friendly and professional staff, very clean, meals are nicely plated and delicious. My daughter, who is also autistic, enjoys going there and the waitresses always talk directly to her, not to me.
Food is decent enough, but get take out. This place is so noisy the employees can't even hear you on their phone when you call to place an order. The sushi is ok, but it seems they never make the same thing twice.
