Prices are good, selection is ok--as they don't have the volume/selection like a Lowe's, Home Depot, or Menards, but they have many things that the big box stores don't. I like the store, but the checkout process is TERRIBLE 9 out of 10 times. You go in for 2 items and stand in line for 20 minutes! There's never more than 1 or 2 cashiers, and they usually have better things to stand around talking about, rather than wait on customers. So, all in all, I absolutely find it extremely annoying to shop there, due to the employees lack of "Customer Service"!!! I also had a dept. manager take my name and number to call me about an item...that NEVER happened. I will continue to go there from time to time, because I need the products I've found there, but I know I need Tylenol and a Nerve Pill, before entering, and upon leaving this store.
This is like Menards and Orcheln had a really big baby together and/or a three way with some other sporting goods store that sells guns. You can pretty much find anything you need or want here. Not kidding one bit. I stopped here while coming back home, so I don't know a lot about it except (I found out) they have year round lay away, which means I could really do some damage here if I lived nearby. I heard rumor several months ago that Poplar Bluff was to be getting one but haven't heard much since. I could only dream they actually come here. My life would be complete if it did.
After today I am absolutely disgusted with rural king in Farmington. I went in today with my disabled elderly grandpa to pick up his gun he had in layaway. There was a gentleman and a woman with short black hair working at the gun department. The gentleman was new and said he had only been there for 2 days and was having problems with his log in on the computer. We were there for some time waiting because the woman kept walking off to talk instead of helping the man figure out how to work the computer. After awhile my grandpa became aggravated that no one would help the man and proceeded to ask for his money back he had paid on it. When the woman returned to the counter and found out my grandpa wanted his money back she turned to the man and with a attitude said "don't worry he's been like this his whole life". Of course being as shocked as we were he turned to ask her if she was talking about him she then gave him a very hateful look and slammed her hand down so hard on the receipt machine she nearly broke it. After we checked out we asked to speak with a manager. Not 1 but 2 managers came up to talk with us. My grandpa informed them of what had happened and said he just wanted an apology from the woman. A few minutes later they came back only to inform us that she refused to come and give us an apology. The managers apologized but acted like it was no big deal and brushed it off. It makes me sick knowing rural king allows their employees to treat people this way. I enjoy rural king and spend a great deal of money there but after today it's safe to say I won't be going back.
Love this store. Wish we had one closer to home. We were headed to St. Louis and stopped in. Great prices and selection on everything. Please build one in Northeast arkansas!
Really nice store with a big assortment. Always enjoy my experience at Rural King because of the prices and friendly people that work there. They are also very knowledgeable and helpful.
